Healdton police chief resigns

HEALDTON, OK - Healdton's chief of police is stepping down over a difference in opinions.

Chief Zack Brown said he is looking into other options in the law enforcement field.

Brown said Healdton's city administration has recently changed and he does not agree with some of the new viewpoints.

He said while he was chief, he feels he did everything he could to improve the city, including twenty-six drug busts in one year.

"There's different options that I have in the local community here and I am going to take some time off and spend some time with my family," Brown said.

Brown said he recommended officer Tim Woodruff to take his place as chief.

Brown's resignation takes effect Friday, June 15.
