6-14-05 - A family of 7 on their way home from a vacation were involved in a 2-car accident Tuesday afternoon that ejected 3 children. A mother and father and five kids were inside a mini-van that was clipped by a car that ran a red light on FM691 and Travis Street.
The children, ages 2, 4 & 7, were thrown from the mini-van, while the car ended up in a ditch. The 2 & 4-year-olds were flown to a Dallas hospital but do not have life-threatening injuries. The rest of the victims were treated at local hospitals and released.
The family was nearly home after a long trip. DPS troopers say none of the 5 children in the mini-van were wearing seatbelts. As for the driver of the car, she faces tickets for disregarding the signal and no insurance.
