6-16-05 – The search for a missing nursing home patient in Sherman was called off early Thursday morning, after police found the 90-year-old man in a wooded creek. Around midnight, Oscar Alexander was reported missing from the Post Oak Care and Rehabilitation Facility.
The man suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. An employee at the facility noticed Alexander was missing during a routine bed check.
The Sherman Police Department launched a massive ground and air search for the patient. Officers found the man shortly after 6:30 a.m. in a wooded creek, near the nursing home.
The elderly man was taken to Wilson N. Jones, but officers say it appears he was not injured.
