Sherman Schools Growing Up

6-30-05 – The Sherman School Board approved a $77 million bond election to be held September 10th. The bond would made additions to every campus as well as open up three new elementary schools.

The bond was proposed by the Citizens Action Committee of Sherman Independent School District to prepare for the growth expected to come from new industry including the new Tyson plant.

Several campuses already are using portable buildings. The bond would eliminate those by renovating existing buildings and adding new ones. The package would fund three new elementary schools including one to replace Washington Elementary.
