Norman Man Arrested After Airport Scare

8-11-05 - A Norman man is federal custoday at the Oklahoma County jail after authorities found a possible explosive device in one of his bags at Will Rogers World Airport this morning.

FBI spokesman Gary Johnson says federal agents arrested 24-year-old Charles Alfred Dreyling Junior at about 9:30 this morning. Dreyling was going through a security checkpoint when a Transportation Security Administration employee noticed something suspicious in his bag on the x-ray machine.

Johnson says the suspicious item appeared to be an explosive device.

Dreyling's carryon bag was removed and Dreyling was detained until the F-B-I's Joint Terrorism Task Force responded to the scene.

Johnson says no apparent connection between Dreyling and any terrorist group or activity has been found.
