DURANT, OK -- A 23-year-old man is accused of eating marijuana to hide it from the cops. That's what Durant police say 23-year-old Tony Pelayo did early Sunday morning.

Durant police were called to the Shady Brook Apartments on North 7th Street for a loud party. When officers arrived, they say they found two marijuana joints, which Pelayo quickly took. When asked by officers to hand them over, Pelayo said he couldn't because he ate the evidence. He then proceeded to show police a leafy green smile.

Pelayo was arrested for destroying evidence.

Regardless of whether you enjoy it or not, legal or illegal, safer than alcohol or not... I used to work law enforcement and this POT head will be in and out of the CJ system, perpetually, spending all your hard earned money you pay in Taxes just so he can have a good time. If he wants to chill out & relax then he should smoke at home where he's safe and others are safe from any possible actions he might do that could possibly harm others.

That is just funny. Does it give you diarrea? Just curious.

To: Bud Toker, When you open your "Starbuds" please include various sweet and salty munchies on the menu. I'll open a yoga gym next door so they can "burn" off the calories in an easy fashion.

The Truth: I am your boss. Or could be. Professional in every way, and when I get home and the kids are in bed, my wife and I smoke. At work I have to debate doing random drug testing. I have to be a hypocrite and argue for it. Kills me. I have smoked for 25 years and never went to harder drugs. I am more in control than alcohol and if I run out, no big deal. The drug war on Pot is the biggest farce in our country, it should stop. It is literally a victimless crime, I am proof positive of that. What crime is involved could be removed by doing what was described below, legalize it. Alcohol abuse scares me 1000 x worse than pot. Anyone ever been abused by a pot smoker out of control? no. doesn't happen.

Stupid? How stupid is a country that makes illegal an herb that has been used for thousands of years by humans and has a better track record of medicinal use than most modern pharmaceuticals. How stupid are people that attack some person, whom is being busted by a bunch of sick(if pot is medicinal, then it follows that those whom don't use it are sick)cops and the sick justice system behind them, whom would try to protect himself from false and sick laws by eating something that has been eaten for thousands of years. All I can say is "to hell with straight people". After all these years and all these arrests, it is obvious that "Free Country" IS as real as Bush's smile.

Cant understand why people still argue about the legalisation of cannibis sativa. Its not going to happen. As with cancer and aids, there is more money to be made with "treatment" than there is in a "cure". Easiest cure would be to slap a tax on marijuana and sell it through government regulation. Many say: Oh, but what if some pothead get behind the wheel and kills somebody? I say: Ever heard of alcohol Jack? Still more say: Oh, but the crime rate. I say: You find me one substantial case of a pothead selling their body, stealing from their loved ones out of "need" to support their habit ( Does it happen, yes but these cases are people that have control and are therefore just common thieves ) I personally could care less. I know plenty of people that "toke", and to each their own. I smoked before becoming a parent and worrying about passing a drug test. I'm also an alcoholic who has 2 years without a drink. They have support groups for "Potheads"? No.... whats wrong with that picture?

it's a good thing he ate it because the cops would've smoked it...

Posted by: cc Location: Ok on Mar 19, 2008 at 08:18 PM
Some of you people writing on here need to smoke a little pot. If only you knew how many poeple already smoked it and you have no idea they do it. Your ministers, bosses, brothers, kids, lawmakers, friends. ect. They may as well go ahead and legalize it, Once we get through this cohort group of lawmakers and a new generation moves in it will be selling like cigarettes are today. anyways g2g smoke another doob!

Moron probably went from a misdemeanor to a felony!! What a dumb a--!

Denise - I believe you are the idiot here. Smoking Marijuana does in no way cause a user to experiment with harder drugs. Legalization would not cause in increase in the number of crack heads in this country. It was originally made illegal for the sole purpose of oppressing minorities. Your false statement is an example of the lies distributed over the years by propaganda...

This guy is a real winner!!! How stupid are you people? Don't you know that smoking this stuff only leads to more and worse drugs? Some of you are just as stupid as he is, it is illegal for a reason. Keep it that way.

TO HECK WITH THE NONJUSTICE SYSTEM

LMFAO! It's like a scene from Super Troopers! Nice! But yeah that is true, we are the ones who have to pay for people being stupid. It's not right! They just need to make pot legal, even if it's only legal as a certain amount. It's legal in Colorado in small amounts... So why not just make it that way all over the US? Makes more since... And it would save us taxs payers ALOT of money by not having to pay for petty arrests and trials over it...you know? I have never heard of anyone killing someone while under the effects of it. Nor have I heard of someone overdosing on it either... It's prob one of he safest drugs out there to take anyway. All it does is make up happy and hungry? Whats wrong with that? Oh and another thing... People who have cancer smoke it cuz their docs perscribe it to them, because its suppose to help slow it down. If its okay for that reason WHY IS IT ILLEGAL TO BEGIN WITH?? And we all know the people in office and law enforcement smoke the reefer too...

He looks like he had a lot of munchies.....

Well here we are again.Dude good going by eating it,it is even better by eating it.At least the police did not get it,Way too much time and money spent on busting cannabis users, lagalize, legalize and legalize. One day it will happen and when it does,i will throw the biggest party for fellow cannbis users anyone has ever seen.!!!

"The reason pot is illegal is cause the law makers (not police) are making a LOT of money when people get caught. If it was legal they wouldn't get as much money from the taxes on it as they do from taking your home etc." By that stoner logic, EVERYTHING would be illegal. Put down the weed, hippie. It's harming your ability to think.

Posted by: passerby on Mar 19, 2008 at 09:41 AM
Great statement mark from Iraq. When are people going to realize that there are just some drugs not as bad as alchol. Hey, how many people do you know that have been killed in a car crash because someone was smoking a cig?...Come on police, go after the right people..

Posted by: Me Location: Denison on Mar 19, 2008 at 09:21 AM
The reason pot is illegal is cause the law makers (not police) are making a LOT of money when people get caught. If it was legal they wouldn't get as much money from the taxes on it as they do from taking your home etc. And all the people that say it is bad for you have never used it. Isn't it weird how all the experts on a subject is the ones that have never experienced it? It is safer than booze, but you can buy booze at the store. Go figure. They get all of your belongings when you get busted and tax payers money when you go to court and it goes on and on till they bring in much more money than they would if it was sold like cigs.

Party at Tony's house!!! SEX, DRUGS, & ROCK-N-ROLL!!!

Posted by: mark Location: iraq on Mar 19, 2008 at 05:16 AM
There's another five grand of taxpayors money to prosecute him, must have been a slow night for law enforcement. Believe me if that's all a person does in their lifetime is smoke a little pot then that isn't too darn bad. I would rather take my chances with a pothead out on the road then some drunk who only kills others, and yes pot is illegal but it should also be illegal to be so darn naive.
