An upper level wave will interact with a warm and very moist air mass to generate thunderstorms through Wednesday. Lightning and torrential rainfall that could cause flash flooding are the primary threats, 1 to 4 inches...with a secondary threat of damaging winds. Turn around, don't drown!
7-10-05 - Authorities in Van Alstyne say a 14-year-old boy stole his mother's car Sunday and crashed out on Farmington Road when he lost control of the SUV and flipped several times.
Authorities say it was a joyride that nearly cost the teenager his life. Witnesses say the teen was headed south on Farmington Road around 5:30 p.m. Sunday when the SUV began to swerve. As the vehicle flipped, the teen flew out the driver's side window.
Witnesses ran to a nearby home and called for help. Authorities say the quick action of those people probably helped save the teen's life.
He was careflighted to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas with serious injuries, but he is expected to recover. Troopers are still investigating.
