Credit Card Fraud - Suspect Caught

The following is a news release from the Sherman Police Department.

Forgery Suspect Captured Thanks to Media and Public Assistance

A few weeks ago a video tape was released to the local media showing a white male and white female using a stolen credit card in a local department store. The pair was using credit cards that were stolen in a residential burglary which occurred in Howe. In that burglary, the victim estimated that over $30,000.00 worth of valuables were stolen.

Once the video was released to the local media the tips began to pour into the police department. The two suspects were positively identified from the video tape which aired on the local television stations.

Donald Raymond Green, a 40 year old white male from Whitesboro, was identified as the male on the video tape. Green was on parole at the time of the offense for unrelated charges. Green was arrested on August 25th, 2005 for two credit card abuse warrants that had been obtained relating to the credit cards that were stolen in the previously mentioned burglary.

Green is currently being held in the Grayson County Jail with a $10,000.00 bond on each “Credit Debit Card Abuse” charge. He is also being held without bond as these two charges violated his parole.

The investigation continues regarding the female that was on the video with Green using the stolen credit cards. No update will be released regarding this female unless she is charged with and arrested for a crime.

The arrest came with the assistance of the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, the local media, and the assistance and support of the citizens. The Sherman Police Department would like to extend its thanks to the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, the local media, and the citizens for their support and assistance in the identification, apprehension, and arrest of this suspect.
