7-24-05 - The American Red Cross in Ardmore was the victim of thieves this weekend, who not only stole thousands of dollars worth of loot, but also caused thousands of dollars in damage.
Ardmore investigators spent the weekend fingerprinting the crime scene. Employee Vance Smith came in early Saturday morning to open up for the Red Cross' first annual yard sale fundraiser that morning. He found broken door handles and noticed two laptops, an ATV, and a ham radio were missing.
The amount of cash raised at Saturday's yard sale is not enough to cover the deductible for the laptops.
Ardmore police believe the burglary might be connected with last Thursday's burglaries that hit 17 cars in hotel and church parking lots.
