06-25-05 – The city of Bonham is asking for a $500,000 grant from Texas Parks and Wildlife as a part of a project that would revamp parts of the city. A splash park, skate park and bicycle routes are all planned on the site of an old flood plain.
The Powder Creek project has been in the works for four years and could be completed within the next 12 to 18 months if the money is granted.
The project would also include new sewer lines and new lots that would be used for real estate.
Bonham should know within the next two months if the will receive the grant.
