BONHAM, Tex. -- Fannin County is receiving more money to beef up their beautification initiative.
Commissioners received a grant of about $20,000 from the State of Texas on Wednesday morning to purchase more signs and dumpsters for their 'BEES,' or “Beautification Education Enforcement Strategies” program.
Commissioners say dumpsters can be expensive, but this is one way to promote recycling and safe dumping in the county.
"If we could get more turned to recycling, then we could recycle a lot of this stuff, and we could see it a little bit and maybe generate some revenue instead of costing revenue," Fannin County Commissioner Pat Hilliard says.
The city of Bonham recently received a similar grant.
