10-16-05 - Four of the five people who died in a school bus crash in Wisconsin were adults.
Authorities say the driver of the bus was among the victims. 29 people were hurt. Many of the injuries were minor.
The passengers were Chippewa Falls High School students and
their adult chaperones returning home from a state marching band
competition in Whitewater, about 200 miles away.
Near Osseo, the bus came upon a semi truck that had jackknifed
across both westbound lanes, and couldn't stop in time.
The Wisconsin State Patrol says it's not known what caused the truck to go off the road, but the driver said he hadn't fallen asleep.
The bus was one of four returning from the competition. The Chippewa Falls band had placed third in its class.
