10-18-05 - The city of Ardmore is tackling the tough topic of defining what exactly adult entertainment is.
The issue first came up in March of 2004 when Christie's Toy Box opened right off I-35. At the time, the city wasn't zoned for adult-type businesses.
Since then, the city has passed an ordinance restricting new businesses from most parts of town. The problem now is that what an adult business was wasn't clearly defined.
A new ordinance saying adult entertainment businesses can only be located in commercial corridor districts and light and heavy industrial districts, and the items can only be sold indoors.
