ARDMORE, Okla. -- In a bizarre case of kidnapping by vigilantes in Ardmore, police say four people knocked on a man's door about 2 a.m. on Monday and then beat and robbed him when he answered before forcing the man at knife-point into a vehicle.

The two men and a woman, along with another person, are believed to have been trying to get back at someone they thought had stolen some property from one of them.

Police say they got the wrong man. He ended up calling 911 after they returned him to his apartment.
