11-5-05 - OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The Oklahoma Corporation Commission will begin hearings Monday on a proposed rate hike for Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company.
A commission referee has recommended the state's largest utility be allowed to raise its rates.
Although a dollar figure wasn't included with the recommendation, both OG&E and its industrial consumers estimate a hike of about 41 million dollars.
But neither side is too happy over the proposal.
A spokeswoman for OG&E says the proposed hike is too low to cover necessary costs, while industrial customers say the increase is too much.
A commission hearing on the proposed increase is scheduled to begin at 9:30 Monday morning in the agency's third-floor courtroom.
