An upper level wave will interact with a warm and very moist air mass to generate thunderstorms through Wednesday. Lightning and torrential rainfall that could cause flash flooding are the primary threats, 1 to 4 inches...with a secondary threat of damaging winds. Turn around, don't drown!
10-3-05 - A major accident happened early Sunday morning on Highway 82 involving a Sherman Police car and a driver following an ambulance.
It happened shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday morning. The officer had responded to a car on fire and had parked his patrol car on the road with his lights flashing to divert traffic into the inside lane.
Melton Ramsey, 78, was driving East on Highway 82 following an ambulance that was transporting his wife to Wilson N. Jones Medical Center.
Ramsey crashed into the officer’s squad car. The officer jumped out of the way and only suffered minor injuries. Ramsey was not injured.
Ramsey told authorities he thought the flashing lights from the squad car were from the ambulance he was following. No charges have been filed, and the accident is still being investigated.
