BONHAM, Tex. -- If you have lived in Texoma for long, you have heard of Trade Days that go on in various communities, including Bonham, but you may not have known what it does for the community.
Friends and neighbors gathered in Bonham over the weekend, but there was more than just shopping going on. All proceeds from the event sponsored by the Kiwanis goes to charity, helping support local youth organizations like the Boy and Girls Scouts.
Organizers say trade days aren't just good for the children; the economy also gets a boost while everyone is in town.
"We got up to $50 a month and they've never stopped though. We've just kept at it, and it's just grown and grown and grown over the years," Mary Kay Ashley Wilson at Bonham Kiwanis says.
The Kiwanis donate about $30,000 a year to youth groups.
