DURANT, OK -- The Durant Magnolia Festival is now underway.
Vendors were busy setting up their booths Thursday morning for the 18th annual event.
The carnival opened Wednesday night to residents and Durant Chamber officials said over 4,000 people came out.
There are several events planned for the next few days starting with a fireworks show Thursday evening.
Festival Co-Sponsor James Dry says they've been working long hours to get ready.
Dry said, "We host this for the Durant Chamber of Commerce out here at the Choctaw Event Center and we have a lot more space out here and we're able to add a lot more activities."
