I was offended by the wedding planner on the broadcast 5/16/08. She made all mothers & mothers-in-law sound horrible.I've had 2 children get married in the last year. I've been the mother of the groom & the mother of the bride. In both cases the weddings went very well. We, mothers, knew our place and did know that the day was for our children (by the way it is the groom's day as well as the bride's).My daughter & I had a lot of fun planning, shopping, etc for her wedding. No decisions were made without consulting her & her fiance. It was a very pleasant, enjoyable experience. I had less responsibilities for my son's wedding, but it too was enjoyable. When the guest lists needed to be cut, they were cut from the parent's list, not our children's.Sure weddings are stressful, but with the right attitude it will be one of the most beautiful, memorable times in your & your children's lives. We decided early to have fun & that's just what we did! Not all mothers are like your guest implied.
