BONHAM, TX - Veteran sacrificed their lives to protect our freedoms. Saturday, some people in Bonham took time to thank some local heroes on armed forces day.

They celebrated with a big barbeque dinner at the Multi-Purpose Complex. United States congressman Ralph Hall, Texas state representative Larry Phillips and Texas Supreme Court Justice Dale Wainwright all stopped by to help honor past and present servicemen

Wainwright says it's a pleasure to be part of the event because people in all branches in the military risk their lives for this country.

"They put the lives on the line for our families and its important for me to be up here to tell them we respect you and honor you for all that you do for our country," says Wainwright.
Around 350 people attended Saturday’s event.
