ARDMORE, Okla. -- After an on-duty Ardmore police officer was involved in an accident over the weekend, police are investigating the crash.

Officer Travis Malloy was driving his police cruiser at the time of the single car accident.

Captain Kevin Woods of the Ardmore Police Department says, "Officer Travis Malloy was responding to a possible injury accident on 3rd Street Northeast and ended up being involved in a single-car accident himself."

Officer Malloy was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

Investigators are still reconstructing exactly what happened. Nobody else was hurt, and no other vehicles were involved

It is still not known if the cruiser's emergency lights or siren were in use at the time of the accident.

But we have that awsome new emergency code level policy!! How could this happen? Whatever, any other day this wouldnt even be in the media but since that policy came out, this pitiful accident is going to be plastered all over the news!! It probably happened because his lights and siren were NOT on!!
