CHOCTAW COUNTY, Okla. -- An 86-year-old man accused of murdering his stepdaughter appeared in court Tuesday. Coy Tate of Hugo was in a legal conference Tuesday afternoon for a pretrial hearing.

Tate is charged with first degree murder after investigators say he shot his stepdaughters at his home on Roebuck Lane in Hugo on May 1, killing 63-year-old Jackie Maye Endemano and injuring 57-year-old Debra McKenzie. The daughters were visiting from California.

McKenzie says Tate became agitated when they asked about their mother's medical information. That was when she said Tate opened fire.

Yes you are absolutely right, lets just start killing everyone that does not mind there own business, and lets just be o.k. with family members killing and say that it was a mistake. You are all right lets just take the law into our own hands and start killing anyone that gets in our business, even if they are trying to figure out what is going on with their mothers health. You are all right lets just kill and claim it was a mistake after all that wont take away from you being a nice person. I can't believe your thought process. When you make a mistake you sometime have to pay the consequence.

Good Lord, folks, this sad tale has gone on way too long. The only folks who were there in that house when the shots were fired were Coy and the two women he shot. None of us know why he did what he did, and if you wanna hang an old man in his mid-80s, you need a check-up from the neck up. I'm not from Hugo (but my bride is), but I say let it all work out in court.

Those saying to hang him have no heart at all. Coy is a great man that made a mistake. There is more to the story that this new site is not saying. Those of us involved know it was a bad mistake. I am family to Coy Tate. He is and will always be a great man. His step-daughter was told to stay away. and yes he let them in his home, but what they said to him was not what his step-daughter is saying. I pray for those of you that feel you need to comment on something you know nothing about. Our family is hurting enough right now.
