11-16-05 - The Federal Emergency Management Agency will send $7.1 million to Texas to reimburse Dallas, Grand Prairie and several Northeast Texas counties for money spent to aid relocated Hurricane Katrina victims, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn said Tuesday.
Cornyn, R-Texas, said the FEMA money will cover costs incurred when the cities and counties provided shelter operations, including transportation costs, unit rentals and furnishings.
Dallas will receive $3.46 million, Grand Prairie will receive $2.26 million, and the Ark-Tex Council of Governments will receive $1 .38 million for shelter services provided in Bowie, Franklin, Cass, Red River, Titus and Delta.
Among other reimbursements to the state, FEMA has announced that it will send $138 million to reimburse Houston and $22.4 million to reimburse Austin.
