GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. -- An anonymous tip led authorities to a field of drugs Friday afternoon. Grayson County narcotics investigators made the bust around 1 p.m.
Investigators say they found the marijuana plants around 1 o’clock Friday in a field off Tuck Road east of Sherman in Grayson County.
We walked through the scene with investigators as they collected the drugs.
Grayson County Sheriff's investigators found about 100 plants in the field. Sergeant Rickey Wheeler says the plants have probably been growing since Easter.
Wheeler says it takes a lot of water to grow marijuana, but unlike many marijuana busts, these plants are not near the river and that the grower of these plants spent a lot of time caring for the crop.
Wheeler says the 100 plants would have a street value of up to $600 a pound.
No arrests have been made, and they currently have no suspects. If found, the person responsible could face felony charges.
