LAMAR COUNTY, TX-- Over one million dollars in relief funds is coming to Lamar County for damage caused by December's ice storm.
Lamar County, Paris and Reno have all been approved to receive funds from the Texas Department of Agriculture.
The county and Paris will receive $350,000 each, the max amount offered, while Reno will receive $340,000.
After being denied federal funds from FEMA, Emergency Management Coordinator Heath Thomas says they're thankful for any relief they can get.
"When something costs you that much over anything you expected to pay, any reimbursement or any coverage of that cost is going to be exceptionally helpful to budget long term," said Thomas.
They expect to receive the funds within the next few months.
