12-1-05 - A wildfire in Carter County is finally under control, but not before emergency officials had to call in a Chinook helicopter to douse the flames.
But it was a different story around 5 p.m. this afternoon. The Fox-Graham fire chief says the winds picked up and switched directions around 2 p.m. It picked up embers from burning logs, setting an entire field of Bermuda grass on fire.
Luckily the winds were calm enough to allow the firefighters to fight it from the air.
Fire departments have been fighting this grass fire since Sunday and thought they had it under control.
So far it's burned around 6,000 acres.
