12-8-05 - The first arctic blast of the early winter season has sent temperatures plunging and traffic sliding as light snow and sleet cover portions of the two state regions. Occasional snow showers will be possible overnight in the eastern third of Texoma while temperatures range from the lower teens to the lower 20s. While accumulations have been generally light, drivers are encountering slick and hazardous road conditions in some locations. The winter precipitation will move eastward out of the Texoma region by daybreak and afternoon high temperature readings are expected to remain near or below freezing Thursday. Wind chill values from 5 to 10 degrees will be possible.
