Last Monday evening, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol in McCurtain County found 20-year-old Shalonda Bendler dead in what was first worked as a fatal accident.
The medical examiner’s investigator discovered Bendler died of wounds received before the wreck. The driver of that car, 24-year-old John David Noah, received several broken bones due to the wreck.
Today, OSBI agents and members of the McCurtain County Sheriff’s Office filed first degree murder charges against Noah. Bendler, Noah’s girlfriend, had been stabbed in the neck several times.
A charge of manslaughter was also filed against Noah because Bendler was pregnant at the time of her murder.
OSBI agents and the McCurtain County Sheriff’s Deputies continue to work on this case along with the District Attorney’s Office.
Noah remains in a metro hospital.
