12-25-05 – For the last 12 years, Doc’s Country Cooking Restaurant in Honey Grove has offered a free Christmas meal to the residents. This year, more than 200 turned out for the holiday.
Some residents say the gathering is about more than the free food; it gives the community a chance to get together and share memories.
The tradition began when the owners decided they wanted to do something for people who may be alone for Christmas.
New owners will take over the business in January, but they say they will keep the tradition alive.
