Delays in Rebate Check Delivery

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Got your check yet? About 40,000 Oklahomans are still waiting for their state rebate checks.

A spokesman for the state treasurer's office, Tim Allen, says new checks have been sent to about ten-thousand people who didn't get the first ones.

The state sent out $1.2 million rebate checks. But about 50,000 weren't delivered by the post office, mostly because of incorrect mailing addresses.

A total of $92 million in rebates were authorized this year. They represent excess state revenue collected during the fiscal year that ended June 30th.

Single taxpayers received 45 dollars; couples received 90-dollar checks.
