Several rounds of thunderstorms through Saturday will have the potential to produce flooding rains, and a few isolated hail cores or strong winds are possible. Never drive into flooded areas...turn around, don't drown!
1-3-06 - A Carter County judge is still waiting to make his decision on a controversial new animal ordinance in Ardmore, that would keep livestock out of residential neighborhoods.
The law concerning this issue went into affect in November, but last month, some citizens filed a temporary injunction, which a judge granted. That judge is accepting arguments until Thursday, which is when he'll decide to make the injunction permanent. That decision could then send the issue to civil trial.
Back in May, city commissioners passed an ordinance that removed livestock from neighborhoods for health and hazard issues. Some residents say that having the livestock in their neighborhoods give kids an alternative activity that is close to home. They believe the ordinance violates their rights.
