1-4-05 - A former Van Alstyne educator has thrown his hat into the ring for Texas state represenative in district 62. Charlie Williams will run as a republican in the district that covers Grayson and Fannin counties.
The former school superintendent has been an educator most of his life and says he has the signed support of 21 school superitendents across the district.
Williams will face incumbent Larry Phillips in the March primary. Phillips took over the district back in January of 2003. He ran unopposed in 2004.
The primary election day is March 7th.
