OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The first Powerball drawing that will involve Oklahoma will be held during the International Finals Rodeo.
Jim Scroggins, the Oklahoma Lottery's executive director, said
Thursday that that January 14 drawing could be for a jackpot as high
as $100 million.
Powerball tickets will go on sale in Oklahoma next Thursday. The
first drawing involving Oklahoma will be two days later at 9:59
p.m. during the final session of the IFR at State Fair Arena.
Scroggins said since Oklahoma's lottery began October 12, it has
grossed $63.3 million. The lottery is on target to reach its goal
of raising $65 million for education by the end of June.
