1-10-06 - A car hit a 7-year-old Healdton girl Tuesday night. The young girl was riding a bicycle at the time and had to be flown to an Oklahoma City hospital.
The accident happened off Plum Street around 5:15 pm. Police say the young girl was riding her bicycle in her yard when she went into the street. The driver didn’t see the girl enter the street because of a security fence. The car struck the rear tire of the bike and threw the girl into the street. She was not wearing a helmet.
The girl suffered a concussion and is being treated at an Oklahoma City hospital. Police say speed was not a factor. They have no plans to charge or ticket the driver.
