1-21-06 - A second double fatality accident has been reported in Garvin County. Two people died around 6:45 p.m. Friday night on State Highway 19.
Forty six year old Rickey Richardson of Stratford and 45-year-old Roland Latham of Moore were pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers say Richardson’s car was headed west when it ran off the road. Richardson overcorrected, but his car slid into the eastbound lane and collided with Latham’s vehicle.
According to OHP, troopers smelled alcohol on Richardson.
This was the second double fatality wreck in the county Friday.
Two Wynnewood teenagers died in a pick-up accident Friday afternoon on state highway 29. The 1991 Chevy was eastbound on 29, about 3/10ths of a mile from I-35, when it hit a semi-truck that was turning into a private drive.
The pick-up burst into flames. Michael Stewart Lee, 17, and Stella Ashley Shenette Briley died at the scene from massive injuries.
Dmitri Andre Thompson was driving the 1991 International 4900 tractor-trailer. He was treated and released at the scene.
Troopers say the pick-up was traveling at an unsafe speed, which caused the wreck.
