CARTER COUNTY, Okla. -- A Carter County woman says she was pulled over by a car with flashing emergency lights and then raped. Robin Beal spoke to investigators has this report.

The 22-year old victim told authorities it happened over the weekend around 2 a.m. Sunday, but she didn't report it until Tuesday because she was afraid to go to law enforcement, not knowing who it was that pulled her over.

The unidentified woman tells Carter County sheriff's deputies that she was driving in remote northeast Carter County near Highway 53 and Ponderosa when she saw flashing lights behind her and pulled over.

She then says a man who was not in uniform or carrying a gun, approached her window and asked to see her driver's license.

What she says happened next is chilling.

"He asked her to step out of the car, and when she did so, she stated that he hit her with his flashlight, knocked her to the ground, and sexually assaulted her," Carter County Sheriff Ken Grace says.

Investigators are looking for a man about 30-years old. He is believed to have been driving a dark-colored Ford Crown Victoria. They say he is 5’ 8” to 5’ 9,” with a heavy build, pot belly, a short military haircut, and with very hairy arms.

If you have any information about who this man is, you are urged to call the Carter County Sheriff’s Office.

Huh? An older model, unmarked, black, crown victoria with flashing lights. How many are there? It's a known fact that one sits in the town of Wapanucka at the city hall.Maybe that is what the Carter County sheriff's car was doing in Wapanucka on Tuesday the 1st of July, checking things out.We would sure hope so.

Ok people this isn't about politic, this is about a YOUNG lady who was raped. And yes it is normal for them to not come forward immediately alot of women are scared to be blamed like this was somehow their fault. And of course the first thing you all do is assume she did something wrong. She was just doing what she thought was the right thing by pulling over. I will pray that this doesn't scar her for life, and pray that it isn't your, wife, daughter, mother, ect. next time. You are so judgemental!

Diana, you've gotten straight to the point! Ha, Ha! Exactly!

MR X, I agree with you, but we're gonna need a crane to hang that "pot belly hog!" They have a crane over at the construction site at the hospital, we'll use that one!

Pot belly,hairy arms............?Big Foot?

Just because you work for grace doesnt mean you know what the other two candidates are going to do if elected. Every sheriff makes changes...most of the time for the better. I worked for grace, i know he is not capable of running this department. Im voting grant, you can vote grace, just leave it at that OK?

You guys don't trust your law officials in Tex-ass either. LOL WELCOME TO OKLAHOMA, HONEY. "Fixin'" to change channels because everything around here is barfy and never gets fixed. I think I'll just go to CL and bitchaboutcha. lol

I hope I never end up on the news for something tragic, you people posting amaze me! Everyone has ALL the answers and knows exactly what to do at any given time! The girl was only 22 yo and it was dark, how could she know until it was too late. I'm so sorry this had to happen to her. If it were my daughter, well lets just say I would not want to be in his shoes once her daddy, brothers, uncles....caught up with him. I pray God gives her strength to overcome this.

FIND THIS SCUM BAG AND HANG HIM.

Ken Grace will not make any personel changes like Grant and the Wal-Mart guy will. These deputies know who to support. Grace has the backing of law enforcement for the whole county! Grant and the Wal-Mart guy have no chance to win. They should bow out now!

Posted by: to grace for sheriff on Jul 5, 2008 at 10:14 AM
This guy needs to be caught anyway, not just for grace before the election. and no..he wont catch him, some city officer or deputy will while grace sits behind the desk and tries to remember where he is and what he ate for lunch! Ive met grace to...not impressed, and how exactly will crime run wild? The same deputies that grace is forcing to campaign for him will be there working for Grant. You must be one of graces support staff that arent to bright. Grant all the way for me!

Posted by: Diana Location: Madill on Jul 5, 2008 at 08:40 AM
If he had a joint in his mouth they would have picked him up already

Posted by: Anonymous on Jul 5, 2008 at 08:11 AM
concerned/voter, do you HONESTLY think that the deputies have the time and resources to patrol every inch of road in that county at every minute of the day? And "personal", do you really get pulled over that much? I've been pulled over once in my life!! Slow down or something!

Posted by: MEDICAL PERSONEL Location: OKLAHOMA on Jul 5, 2008 at 02:55 AM
HELLO MR OFFICER, THE RAPE TOOK PLACE ON SUNDAY, SHE REPORTED THIS ON TUESDAY, YOU CANT DO A RAPE KIT 2 DAYS LATER, IF YOU WAS A REAL OFFICER I DO BELIEVE YOU WOULD KNOW THIS. I SERIOUSLY DOUBT THE WOMAN STILL HAD THE SAME UNDERWEAR ON AND HAD NO SHOWER. NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK.

Posted by: Anonymous on Jul 4, 2008 at 11:40 PM
I do not know why they still have unmarked cars for traffic offences. I can see narcotics, or gang units and other specialized units, but not traffic!!!!!!!!!!Especially when you can get lights, and badges all over the place.....

Posted by: Grace for Sheriff Location: Springer on Jul 4, 2008 at 09:43 PM
I met Ken Grace, and he will get the job done. I have faith he will get this creep before the election. He's the only person that can keep Carter County safe! Crime would run wild if Grant or the Wal-Mart guy is elected

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Garland Tx on Jul 4, 2008 at 07:38 PM
this is a scary thing to have happen to anyone, I hope they catch the creep that did this....My Prayers are with this young lady right now...

Posted by: worried Location: ardmore on Jul 4, 2008 at 05:56 PM
Ive seen the deputy that wears only the t shirt and non uniform pants....this guy is so unproffesional. Grace is so willing to fire jailers who "break" policy, but lets his deputies get away with anything. No vote for you from me grace.

Posted by: Officer Location: Oklahoma on Jul 4, 2008 at 04:10 PM
If this really happened to the lady why didn't the sheriff's office take her to the ER and have a rape kit done on her, at least they would have DNA to put with a person later on in this case. This could be the same people that was poseing as OHP Troopers a few months back in the Carter County and Marshall COunty Line area but as it always happens noone ever gave a true good led on that case eather just like as this one will probaly turn out.

Posted by: Lisa on Jul 4, 2008 at 01:57 PM
It was 2 a.m. She probably could not see if the car was marked or not, she just saw flashing lights, and did what she was probably always taught to do: stop. She probably did not see he was not in uniform until he got to her window, by then, what could she have done? In that area, she would have been a long way from any well lit area. This is a terrible thing that happened and I hope they catch this guy.

Posted by: voter Location: cartercounty on Jul 4, 2008 at 10:20 AM
As usual, kxii blocked one of my posts imagine that........maybe if the sheriff dept patrolled at least some, this guy wouldnt have had the guts to attempt something this lengthy! If this is whats to be expected from Grace's department then Im voting for Grant.....we need deputies that patrol in marked vehicles and wear uniforms. The wannabe K-9 officer wears t-shirts and bdu pants all the time, not a good thing Grace!!

Posted by: michelle lawon Location: durant on Jul 4, 2008 at 09:17 AM
OM! I am sorry to this lady. I have heard of these type of thing happening on country road. The public has been told if in doubt it is a true police officer then travel to a well lit area before stopping.

Posted by: personal Location: personal on Jul 4, 2008 at 09:05 AM
What do you do in a moment like this? When I get pulled over I usually try to find a gas station or a very well traveled area.

Posted by: m Location: ardmore on Jul 4, 2008 at 01:15 AM
First thing if they are not in uniform or do not have a badge on than you leave immediately. This kind of sounds funny due to she was afraid to go to law enforcement. Today I wouldn't even role my window down for a regular cop just role it down enough to slip your driver license and insurance out of the window. There is nothing they can do about it!!

Posted by: Republican in Ardmore Location: Ardmore on Jul 3, 2008 at 10:09 PM
This "pot belly" rapist had better watch himself, someone is going to be waiting on him next time!

Posted by: concerned Location: Dickson on Jul 3, 2008 at 09:04 PM
Maybe if the deputies patrolled then the guy wouldnt have had time to perform a traffic stop, get the victim out of the car, hit her twice, kick her, choke her and assault her!!!! If this is what is to be expected from Grace's sheriff department, then im voting for GRANT! or childress..doesnt matter at this point!!!!@!!!!!!

Posted by: citizen Location: cartercounty on Jul 3, 2008 at 08:59 PM
I really think sheriff grace should hand this off to APD or OSBI to investigate. He has already blundered a few cases that didnt make it to the media...imagine that! He reminds me of pres bush, sound and act tough but is actually very un-intelligent!

Posted by: john Location: denison on Jul 3, 2008 at 08:50 PM
People for god's sake you do not have to pull over for a unmarked police car. only a marked police car can pull you over and if it is a cop and they try to pull you over call 911 and have them check to see if it realy is a cop this is what the police are saying to do if you any Q's call your local PD, BE SAFE

Posted by: bbbb Location: Texas on Jul 3, 2008 at 08:22 PM
Ya right something more to this story.

Posted by: LawDog Location: Ardmore on Jul 3, 2008 at 07:47 PM
Sounds like Dickson PD needs to mark their cars (black charger). I cant see how they get away with it being unmarked anyway?

Posted by: james Location: ardmore on Jul 3, 2008 at 07:17 PM
Someone out there is BOUND to know this guy. That description and the car narrows it down a huge amount.
