Wednesday and Thursday are Weather Aware days due to the potential for locally heavy rainfall. Beware of flooded road-ways and never drive around barricades or into water more than six inches deep. High rainfall rates may reduce visibility and also increase the risk of hydroplaning. Turn around, don’t drown! Isolated strong thunderstorms may develop late Wednesday afternoon, but widespread severe weather does not appear to be likely at this time.
2-10-06- A Tushka teenager was killed in an accident Thursday night on Highway 69-75. 15-year-old Courtney Wilson was the passenger in a 1985 Camaro that turned in front of an on-coming semi-truck.
The driver, 18-year-old Stormy Thompson, pulled out in front of the northbound truck and was broadsided on the passenger side. It happened near the intersection of South First Street. Courtney was flown to a Tulsa Hospital, but died Friday morning from her injuries. Thompson is in stable condition at Texoma Medical Center.
Both teens are students of Tushka High School.
