2-13-06- A business expansion is bringing more good news for the Texoma job industry. Monday morning the Sherman Economic Development Cooperation board of directors approved two incentive requests; one from Omega Industries and another from PHNS Inc.
This decision will bring dozens of jobs to the area for the coming months. Omega Industries has been in Sherman since 2003 manufacturing concrete railroad crossings. SEDCO will pay Omega $16,000 by February of next year on agreement that Omega will hire 12 new hourly employees, which will double their workforce. Healthcare services company PHNS will be opening a call center in the Westwood Village Shopping Center that will bring 25 jobs.
The deals have been in the works for over 6 months. Though the two companies are relatively small compared to recent development, SEDCO says they show strong staying power. Developers hope that PHNS Inc. will eventually expand to have 100 employment positions over the next few years.
