2-13-06- With Primary Day in Texas just a month away, campaign signs are everywhere. But some vandals are trying to make sure candidates don'r get their message out.
Three different candidates chose a spot off of Crawford Street in Denison to set up their signs - and all of the signs have suffered damage. Sometimes it's the weather but often it's someone with no political interest at all doing the damage. Police and candidates say the problem is often vandals who have no affiliation with any party. But the damage they do is costly.
Each sign costs $30, not counting the money for lumber, iron poles, etc. Some candidates have bought anywhere from 300 to 500 signs. If someone is caught taking down campaign signs, it's not different from any other vandalisms of property.
