2-15-06- Residents in Madill are mourning the loss of one of their long time police chiefs Wednesday. Buford Huff served on the force for 34 years and passed away Tuesday night.
Friends and family say Huff loved two things in life; his family and law enforcement. And even after he retired in 1999 he never stopped remembering the good times. His family is mourning his loss by telling stories; just liked he loved to do. Huff’s family says he lived his life always treating everyone the same no matter what. Along with his family the Madill Police Department is also mourning his loss.
Buford Huff is survived by his sister, three children, and five grandchildren. Three of his relatives are now following in his footpath as law enforcement officers.
His funeral will be Friday, February 17th at the Watts Funeral Home off of Highway 70 at 2:00 p.m. with the graveside being held at Oakland Cemetery. He will be buried with law enforcement honors.
