2-16-06- Smoke blanketed parts of southern Oklahoma, setting off concerns among residents that fires were nearby Thursday evening. But authorities stressed that most of the fires were contained to the Arbuckle and Dickson areas.
Ardmore police said they were being swamped with concerned callers reporting smoke. Police ask that you only call emergency numbers if you spot flames.
The fire near Dickson burned an area one mile south of Highway 199. It started in a field and destroyed two barns.
