Driving in parts of Texoma was slow-going Saturday morning, as a wintry mix has iced over some bridges and overpasses.
Icy road conditions have caused several major accidents in northern parts of Grayson County this morning.
In Denison, one woman was killed after the SUV she was riding in rolled in the 4900 Block of Highway 75 just after 10:00 a.m. - Saturday.
Police say the driver hit an icy patch in the road and lost control of the vehicle. Police say 45-year-old Nelia Rubles of Illinois was killed after she was ejected from the vehicle. Four other people were taken to the hospital. Police say thier injuries were not life-threatening.
Denison fire officials say the calls started coming around 4:30, and crews have not stopped working since. They say drivers heading north on Highway 75 are reaching thin, icy patches on the highway starting around exit 66 north of Sherman, continuing all the way up into Bryan County.
Rollover, and multi-vehicle piles-ups have occured where cars are hitting the ice driving at speeds of 70 mph. Officials are urging drivers to slow down, and asking friends and family of people driving up into Texoma to warn their relatives of the dangerous conditions.
The conditions are expected to continue throughout the weekend.
Bryan, Fannin, and Lamar counties have worked a few minor accidents. Sherman has not worked any major accidents.
