2-27-06 - A new Lake Murray lodge and resort is one step closer to coming true. The Ardmore Tourism Authority presented plans on Monday to the state Tourism and Recreation Commission. The proposal is to build a premier new lodge and resort at the state park.
First News has been reporting about the plans since July, and Monday, the commission approved the concept. Although they respected the plans presented by Ardmore, they want to open up the development portion to the public in view of the fact that it is a state owned park.
The Tourism and Recreation Commission is giving citizens until August to suggest plans. At the August meeting, they will vote on which plan they prefer.
