3-3-06 - The state of Texas has won a major award for having the most jobs created in the United States for 2005. Developers say the two largest business expansions to come to Grayson County last year were Tyson and Ruiz Foods.
Both businesses were instrumental contributions to the Governors Cup Award. The Governors Cup is given out for the most job creation in the nation and is awarded by "Site Selection" magazine. Texas has won the cup two years in a row.
Texas had 842 projects across the state in 2005 with Tyson and Ruiz bringing in over 2,000 jobs to the Grayson County area. Developers in Sherman and Denison say this not only shows the hard work in the past year, but makes the Texoma region more marketable for future business developments.
Tyson received a $10 million incentives plan from a state fund for expanding locally.
