Two upper level waves will interact with a warm and very moist air mass to generate thunderstorms through Saturday. Lightning and torrential rainfall that could cause flash flooding are the primary threats...with a secondary threat of damaging winds. Turn around, don't drown!
3-3-06 - As the 1-180th National Guard group out of Durant is preparing to deploy, soldiers based out of Ardmore will be deployed to Iraq. Around 20 soldiers from the 345 Unit out of Ardmore and the 1245th out of Madill have received orders to hear to Iraq.
The companies are heading to Camp Gruber this weekend for regular training. At the camp they will finalize the list of who is going. The group will head down to Fort Bliss in Texas for training at the end of March, before they ship off to Iraq for at least a year.
About 140 soldiers are set to deploy with the troop. During their mission in Iraq, they will be transporting food, medicine supplies, gas, and water all over the country.
