3-7-06 - High school students might want to brush up on their math skills if they hope to get their driver's license before the age of 18.
A bill won passage Monday in the Senate that would require students younger than 18 to grasp 8th grade math before getting a driver's license. Senator Susan Paddack wrote Senate Bill 17-92. The bill goes to the House now, where a similar bill was passed by a House panel last week.
Students must already show they can read 8th grade material to get a driver's license.
