3-8-06 - Several dogs were found dead over the weekend, poisoned with raw meat in Ada. Authorities still are not sure why the dogs were targeted, but they do know the meat they ate was laced with strychnine.
Police believe the criminals went up and down the alley between West 7th and 8th street throwing raw meat into back yards. Officials know of six dogs were killed but believe three more may have also eaten the meat and ran off. Police say when a dog eats strychnine, it starts having seizures and most of the time dies quickly after the poison is in their body.
Ada Police are investigating, bust as of no they have very few leads. They are asking residents who have any information to call their department at (580) 332-4466.
