Two upper level waves will interact with a warm and very moist air mass to generate thunderstorms through Saturday. Lightning and torrential rainfall that could cause flash flooding are the primary threats...with a secondary threat of damaging winds. Turn around, don't drown!
3-8-06 - A Fannin County mother is in stable condition at Parkland Hospital ICU after being dragged by a car. Shawna Case was trying to prevent two people from abducting her 5-year-old son from her Honey Grove home.
Case and her son were at their home on South 12th Street on February 28th when, around 3:00 p.m., the child's uncle and stepmother pulled up in a car and tried to kidnap him.
Case ran out to the car and tried to stop them from taking her son, who was already in the vehicle. Police say Sheffield Hayden III accelerated, running over Case and dragging her two blocks before she fell. The vehicle then ran over Case.
The stepmother, Angela Patterson and Hayden were both arrested on aggravated assault charges, child endangerment, and aggravated kidnapping. They are currently in the Fannin County Jail with bonds set at $150,000 each.
The case was filed on Wednesday with the DA’s office. The child is staying with his grandmother while his mother is recuperating at Parkland.
