Whitesboro Police Chief Resigning

3-20-06 - After 16 years of serving Whitesboro, Police Chief Paul Woody is retiring. The chief submitted his resignation letter at the city council meeting last Tuesday.

Police officers and city officials say his resignation came as a surprise. His fellow officers say that the six years he served as chief, he set higher standards, demanded better resources, and developed several programs within the department.

Woody will serve as chief until the end of May when the city council will appoint a replacement.
