Wednesday and Thursday are Weather Aware days due to the potential for locally heavy rainfall. Beware of flooded road-ways and never drive around barricades or into water more than six inches deep. High rainfall rates may reduce visibility and also increase the risk of hydroplaning. Turn around, don’t drown! Isolated strong thunderstorms may develop late Wednesday afternoon, but widespread severe weather does not appear to be likely at this time.
3-22-06 - A serious accident in Fannin County sent three people to the hospital Wednesday afternoon. The accident occurred around 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 11 and CR 4526 about a mile west of the community of Randolph.
A pick-up ran the stop sign slamming into a van. The two people in the truck, Joshua Moore and Blake Pryor of Blue Ridge were not wearing seatbelts and were airlifted to a Dallas hospital.
The driver of the van was from Sulphur Springs and taken by ambulance to the hospital.
